This is a bit of a bucket list workshop for me. I have always wanted to do a workshop with my teen students, that allowed for us to work plein air, doing sketching and painting in downtown Brampton. With the impending changes to both my business and the downtown core, this may be my only chance.

No previous plein air experience is necessary. Students will receive training on how to work outside and how to draw from life as well as on the materials we will be working with. All materials will be provided however, students are responsible to carry their own equipment to and from the drawing location.  Each student will receive a beautiful hardbound sketching journal made of handmade paper.

What is Plein Air Painting?

Students will be working outside, on location, drawing and painting from life. Some work will be done on an easel and other work in a sketchbook. We will work in a variety of media from simple graphite to acrylic painting. We will work at 3 or more different locations in the downtown core (within walking distance of Beaux-Arts Brampton. We will return to the studio each day to touch up our work.

This workshop is appropriate for students ages 14+ that are mature, used to caring for themselves and have a high level of self-sufficiency.

Students will be required to bring their own snacks and lunch. Water will be provided at the studio but students should bring their own water bottle. They will also require sunscreen, hats, sunglasses and possibly bug spray. :)
