Progressive Art offers special courses during vacation periods or for specific groups. These programs are available based on demand and scheduling.
This course is offered to Grade 8 students preparing a portfolio for a Regional Arts Program. Although the focus is on Mayfield High School, we do accommodate portfolio requirements of other schools. This course is offered as an 8-week program in the fall of each year on Saturdays, 3:30 pm to 5:00 pm. Its purpose is to help guide students through the visual arts audition process for Mayfield Art School. We will post registration information on the website in the summer of each year.
During March Break and the month of July, we offer 3-hour art sessions that focus on the completion of one project. We call this our camp alternative, as we recognize not everyone wants the commitment of a full week camp. Art Daze sessions are scheduled on specific days in March and in July.
Our art sessions are scheduled with one project in the morning from 9:00 am to 12:00 pm and another in the afternoon from 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm. Students may enrol in just one session or stay for the entire day or multiple days. Multi-day discounts are available for these sessions. Activities change every year and are rotated every 5 years.
We offer one summer art camp each year for ages 6-12. The camp runs for 5 days from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm. We do visual art all day! Activities include drawing, painting, printmaking, paper crafting and 3D modelling. We put our heart into this one week every year with unique activities and real, hands-on art experimentation. No macaroni or cotton balls! Real acrylic paint, watercolour paper and excellent quality tools.
The first Thursday evening of each month, we meet in Studio 1 for our Art for Adults - Ages 18+ class. Limited to 4 students, we explore art journaling, watercolour painting and drawing. 2-hour class. No commitment. All materials provided. No experience necessary.
We offer group or family sessions for up to 4 people in Studio One. There is a list of activities that you can choose from that can be completed in the hour and a half time slot.
To register for a family or group session please contact Progressive Art through the registration form email (click the link below) to arrange a date and time. The sessions and workshops listed below are not connected to our search system.
Progressive Art has participated in Artist in Education programs since 2002. We offer several different activities, including a break down of pricing per student on our website.
