Students will listen to the story of Emma and her friend Trixy the parrot as they go on a rhyming adventure to the rain forest. Students will then learn how the book was illustrated and together with the illustrator, they will draw a step-by-step picture of Emma or Trixy.
Colouring pages are available for the younger students instead of the drawing class at the teacher's request. Please inform us in advance of the class.
If there is space, we are happy to include more than one classroom in a reading. Please understand that to effectively deliver the drawing activity, students will require a flat surface on which to draw and will need to be able to see the drawing board and instructor. Please take this into consideration when deciding how many classes to include. We provide 24 drawing boards but additonal clipboards or books provided by the school as a drawing surface are appreciated if we are in the gym or library.
Duration: 1 hour - Includes reading (with PowerPoint Presentation) and drawing activity.
