Saturday Program Overview
The Progressive Art for Progressive Kids Program currently offers six (6) different courses in rotation on Saturdays. Courses are presented in affordable six-week sessions, once a week on Saturdays, two hours per class. The courses are held three times a year: Fall, Winter and Spring.
Each of the following courses are 6 classes in duration:
Course #1 — Crazy Characters Cartooning
Course #2 — Portraits in Pencil
Course #3 — Animal Cartooning
Course #4 — Nature in Coloured Pencil
Course #5 — Watercolour Exploration
Course #6 — Abstract Acrylic Painting
Materials and works in progress are kept at the workshop and are worked on in class. Each class includes specific points of art instruction, using the proper art terminology and personal assistance as needed. Understanding and care of materials is stressed. At the end of the course, all materials and art portfolios will be taken home.
Students also receive a sketchbook activity each week to be completed and turned in for the next class. The activities may or may not apply to the course being studied. Their objective is to keep the creative juices flowing during the week—a chance to try something new and practice drawing for fun!
Classes often include either a visit to the Beaux-Arts Gallery to see the new exhibition, a visit to a working art studio upstairs or an interview with a local Brampton artist. Students are given a behind the scenes look at how a gallery operates and are able to speak personally with local artists about their art and techniques.

Congratulations to Lucas for receiving a
Special Certificate of Accomplishment
for the successful completion of all six of the
Progressive Art for Progressive Kids courses!
Great job Lucas!
